Begusarai

Begusarai is the district headquarter of Begusarai District under Darbhanga Division of the state of Bihar, India.

Begusarai district was established in 1870 as a subdivision of Munger District. It was given the district status in 1972. The name of the district apparently comes from Begu, a man who looked after Sarai, an old and small inn.
