Location: Saran
district is bounded by the river Gandak in the east and
rivers Ghaghra and Ganga in the south. To the north of
Saran lie the districts of East Champaran and Gopalganj
and, to the south the districts of Patna and Bhojpur. To
the east lie the districts of Muzaffarpur and East
Champaran and, to the west lie the districts of Gopalganj,
Siwan and Balia (Uttar Pradesh).
