BIT Sindri: 15 more secure job through campus placement

SINDRI: Fifteen more students of BIT Sindri secured job through campus placement drive on Tuesday. With this, the total number of students securing job through campus interviews has gone up to 320 in the current session.
According to Prof G Kumar, the in-charge of training and placement, Soma Enterprises of Chennai selected 11 students of civil engineering branch on Tuesday. One student from BIT Mesra's Patna extension centre has also been selected by the company.
The selected students have been offered a salary package of Rs 2.5 lakh, he said adding Hindustan Copper also selected four students from the institute on Tuesday on a salary package of Rs 4.5 lakh.
The company has kept two more students on waiting list, final decision on whom would be announced later. Earlier firms like TCS, Vedanta, Jindal Steel, Essel Mining, Tata Steel, Tata TRF, Tata Telecon, Tata Tinplate, TAFE have picked students from the institute. Tata Steel, which has selected one candidate, has offered the highest package of Rs 8 lakh per annum so far.
