BIT Sindri to tie up with top institutions

After establishing formal
ties with BIT Mesra under the word bank sponsored Technical Education
Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP), BIT Sindri is all set to tie up
with some of he top most scientific, technical and management
institutions of the country to share expertise and resources. The move
is intended at giving momentum to the ongoing development process of the
institute.
Talks with some of these
institutions, including the Indian School of Mines (ISM) and National
Institute of Technology (NIT), Patna, are in the advance stages. In
fact, lectures of a few of their expert faculties have already been
organized in Sindri. Efforts are also on to establish permanent ties
with some of the top most industrial brands such as Steel Authority of
India Limited (SAIL), Coal India Limited (CIL) and Tata Consultancy
Services (TCS).
Giving details, BIT
Director S.K.Singh said that apart from engineering institutions,
cooperation of scientific and research institutions including Dhanbad
based Central Mining Research Institute (CMRI), Central Fuel Research
Institute (CFRI) and ISI Kolkata to carry out research and development
activities is sought. "Services of some of the top management
schools, including IIM Kolkata and XLRI Jamshedpur, would be roped in
under the informal networking to provide management training to the
faculties and administrative staff", Singh said.
Divulging more,
Professor-in-Charge, Academics, O.N.Mehrotra said that establishing ties
with top most engineering/research/ management institutions would open
new vistas for all round development of BIT.
