BIT Alumni urged to contribute to R&D activities #

Improved
institute-industry relationship can help BIT Sindri, grow as a center
for R&D (research and development) activities in Jharkhand. Making
this observation institute Director S K Singh called upon the alumni to
come forward to help their Alma Mater in this regard and establish the
institute on the international map of technological excellence.
Addressing the Alumni
Meet of the institute at Deshpande auditorium on Sunday (Feb 4), Singh
said that the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) team has visited the
institute recently to grant accredidtation status to the institute for
imparting quality teaching in eight branches of engineering. The
institute will soon launch MBA and MCA courses, he added.
While Shweta Kumari, an
alumnus of the institute, announced to donate books worth Rs.50000 to
the library by former students of electronics department, former alumni
present gave valuable suggestions for the development of the institute.
The BIT Sindri Alumni Association (BITSAA) was reconstituted on this
occasion and former engineer-in-chief, C K Singh was unanimously elected
President of the association. Prof A K S Choudhary was made
Vice-President, Prof U K Dey and Om Prakash were elected Secretary and
Treasurer of the association respectively. Prof D K Singh and Shweta
Kumari were elected Joint Secretaries.
