Technical Education will be costlier from the next academic session in Jharkhand following the cabinet decision on Wednesday. The students taking admission in BIT Sindri, Govt Polytechnics, Mining Institutes and ITIs will have to pay more from the next session.

Revising the fee structure after a gap of 57 years, the government on Wednesday decided to hike the tuition fee of BIT Sindri to Rs.7700/= from the existing fee of Rs.152/= per annum. For Govt Polytechnics, Mining Institutes and ITIs, it will be Rs.2400/= per year. At present the students taking admission in these institutions pay tuition fee of Rs.77/= per annum.

The students belonging to SC and ST communities will enjoy a rebate in tuition fees, however. They will have to pay only 25% of the tuition fees.
