Recently, I received an email from Sri Abinash Prasad Mathur, 59 PROD alumnus of BIT Sindri. 1955-59 batch was not only the 1st batch PROD of BIT Sindri, but also the first batch of Production Engineering of the country. Production Engineering teaching  at BTech level in India was first started by BIT Sindri in 1955.

Sri Mathur recalls his strong educational background and training at BIT Sindri about which he realized when he was in Japan along with his classmate Mani Bhushan Mukherjee (both were General Managers in BHEL then), where they interacted with the international community of engineers. He attributes this to BIT teachers who taught with passion and dedication.

Sri Mathur is now retired and staying in Mumbai with his son in the same Society in Worli where late Pramod Mahajan lived. He is very keen to meet and interact with BITians. He has enquired from me about BITians and BIT Alumni Association in Mumbai. It will be nice if the active members of BIT Alumni Association and other BITians in Mumbai get in touch with him. His email id is:
