Prakash Jha - Bollywood Film Producer/Director

Prakash Jha, Bettiah

Prakash Jha is a multiple award-winning filmmaker and film director credited with movies like Damul, Mrityudand, and Gangaajal, and TV series Mungerilal Ke Haseen Sapne. Born and brought up in a farmer's family in West Champaran, Bihar, he did his schooling from Sainik School Tilaiya, earned Bachelors in Physics from Delhi University and is trained as film editor from Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. After establishing himself in the world of cinema, Jha does lots of social work. He also unsuccessfully fought election to the Lok Sabha from his native Bettiah in 2004.
