Ingredients
|
Maida (refined flour) - 250 gm
Sugar - 200 gm
Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp
Saunf (aniseed) - 1 tsp
Dalda/Cooking Oil - 200 gm |

Method of Preparation
|
1. Make one-string sugar syrup with water. Keep
aside.
2. Add saunf, soda and 50 gm dalda to maida.
3. Mix thoroughly. Add about 100 ml water and knead to a slightly hard dough.
4. On a wooden platter, roll the dough to a half-inch thick rectangle/square.
5. Cut about 3/4" to 1" square pieces to make gajas.
6. Deep fry gaja in oil/dalda on low heat. When gaja floats, fry to red on high
heat.
7. Dip fried gajas in sugar syrup for two minutes.
8. Take out, allow the syrup on gaja to dry up, and serve. |
