Chicken Tikka

Chicken Tikka


Boneless Chicken – 250 gm (cut into 1 and 1/2“ pieces)
Ginger-Garlic Paste – 3 tsp
Green Chilli Paste – 1 tsp
Shaan Tikka Masala – 2 tsp
Lemon Juice – 2 tsp
Mustard oil – 1 tbsp
Butter - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Red Chilli Powder/Red Edible Colour - 1 pinch (optional)

Method of Preparation

1. Clean the chicken pieces and pat dry them.
2. Mix all the ingredient in chicken except butter and marinate for minimum 4 hrs.
    (keep the marinated chicken under refrigeration)
3. Microwave the marinated chicken for 4 mins.
4. Heat a grill pan/ frying pan and add the chicken pieces.
5. Cook on high heat for 2-3 mins.
6. Then cook for another 3-5 mins on low heat or till done.
7. Add butter and stir for further 2 mins.
8. Serve hot with salad/chutney.

Notes & Tips

1. You can also add any other flavour of your choice like pudina paste or kasoori methi.

2. Longer marination will result in softer tikka.

3. Longer cooking time on low heat can dehydrate the tikka.

4. I prefer "Shaan" brand Tikka Masala as it contains tenderiser.
